Regency Hotel Management Recognizes Team Effort Behind “Remember, Lights in the Sky” at Ohio State Park Lodges

Regency Hotel Management is recognizing the extensive collaboration, planning, and hospitality effort that helped make Remember, Lights in the Sky a meaningful statewide experience at Ohio State Park Lodges on Saturday, September 12.

Throughout the day, guests gathered at participating lodges to enjoy activities, dining, outdoor recreation, and time with family and friends. The evening concluded with a coordinated drone display that brought visitors together for a shared moment of reflection, gratitude, and celebration.

The event commemorated America’s 250th anniversary while also recognizing the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. The show was part of a statewide experience held at nine Ohio State Park Lodges, with synchronized drone displays taking place at 9 p.m. across Ohio.

Ahead of the event, Randy Grismer, Director of State Parks for Regency Hotel Management, shared his excitement for the experience: “We’re excited for visitors to see this incredible drone show and to experience everything our lodges have planned throughout the day. Our teams have worked hard to create meaningful, family-friendly experiences, and we look forward to providing a memorable celebration for guests of all ages.”

Bringing the event to life required months of coordination among Regency Hotel Management, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Great Ohio Lodges, park teams, public-safety partners, and Fantasy Drones. Planning included the development of the drone-show concept and imagery; required permitting and coordination with agencies including the Federal Aviation Administration, Ohio State Parks, ODNR, the U.S. Coast Guard, and other partners; and the creation of local lodge programming designed to complement each park’s existing calendar of events.

The effort also involved coordinating event communications and promotion with ODNR and media partners, while lodge and park teams worked to prepare staffing plans for law enforcement, life safety, guest services, traffic flow, and parking. Each participating location tailored its daytime experiences to its guests and community, creating opportunities for visitors to enjoy the park and lodge before gathering for the evening show.

A coordinated experience of this scale depends on countless people doing exceptional work behind the scenes,” Grismer said. “We are deeply grateful to our Regency team members—including Brenynn, Justin, Tammy, and Amanda—along with our general managers, lodge associates, park partners, public-safety teams, and the professionals at Fantasy Drones. Their commitment, collaboration, and attention to detail helped turn an ambitious idea into a memorable experience for guests across Ohio.”

Regency Hotel Management extends its appreciation to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Great Ohio Lodges, Fantasy Drones, communications and media partners, law-enforcement and life-safety personnel, park teams, lodge associates, and every guest who joined the event.
