Taking on a new moniker, Think-Don't Sink, the Hennepin County Water Safety Task Force is working to bring multi-language water safety DVD's and placards to apartment communities and pools across the country.
Learning about the project, Michael Serr, General Manager at the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West Hotel and Kristin Tollison, Assistant Director of Community Education of the Wayzata School District, welcomed the chance to post multi-language placards on their pool decks. They will be the first hotel and school district in the state of Minnesota to do so.
"It's been a deadly two years in Minnesota. Crowne Plaza is committed to keeping our clients safe. Posting this placard is a simple way to do so," said Michael Serr. "We value their partnership in helping to keep our English and non-English speaking communities safe around water, said Sara Lynn Cwayna, Plymouth Fire Department.
The vibrant 57 inch by 30 inch plastic placard, created by the Plymouth Fire Department, features nine life-saving water safety tips translated into Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Russian, and English.
