David Sweet
More than three decades in the hospitality industry give David Sweet, chairman of the board, an experienced edge. He's seen it all, working in every facet of the business from cooking to design and financing new projects. He has degrees in hotel and restaurant management, business and marketing.
Mr. Sweet served previously as director of operations for a hotel management company operating franchised hotels across the United States. He has also worked with Holiday Inns High Rise Division, Sheraton, Preferred Hotels and ARA Food Services.
Gregory Schjodt
As president and chief executive officer of Regency Hotel Management, Gregory Schjodt has a keen eye for detail, overseeing all full and limited-service properties. In his 30 years in the hospitality industry, Mr. Schjodt has worked in all levels of hotel management, giving him the skills he needs to effectively supervise multiple properties.
Mr. Schjodt received his bachelor's degree from Augustana College. He has served as general manager for full-service properties and assistant director of operations for Regency Hotel Management. Previously, he worked at various locations for a major franchise company.
Robert Thimjon
Real-world experience truly counts with Robert Thimjon, chief financial officer for Regency Hotel Management. Mr. Thimjon's distinguished career includes a dedication to public service as a Sioux Falls School Board member and president, and membership in and president of both the Sioux Falls Rotary West Club and the Minnehaha County Visiting Nurses Association. He serves on the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Board of Pensions and is a member of its audit committee. He also continues to serve as a youth sports coach and on various local church and United Way committees and study groups.
As chief financial officer, Mr. Thimjon oversees financial reporting, data processing, benefits, risk management, real estate taxes and lender relations. His undergraduate degree is magna cum laud from Augustana College and he holds an MBA from the University of South Dakota. He's been an adjunct faculty member at Augustana since 1979 and a certified public accountant since 1976. He has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry.
Gloriann Kueter
Many times it's the sales and marketing department which pulls everyone together on a successful project. As director of sales and marketing for Regency Hotel Management, Gloriann Kueter has more than 20 years experience in sales and marketing for the hospitality industry. She is the key sales contact, overseeing all promotional marketing and coordinating public relations opportunities.
Ms. Kueter oversees the sales efforts and productivity of all Regency properties. She holds degrees in both retail management and travel management with a hospitality background in travel planning, catering sales and hotel sales management. Previously, she was regional director of sales for another hotel development company.
Tom Biegler
Realizing each property's profit potential has become Tom Biegler¹s focus as Regional Director of Operations. More than 25 years of his career in the hospitality industry has been with Regency Hotel Management. Today, he works with new and existing properties, combining cost controls with transitional and long-term team building to maximize advantages.
Mr. Biegler is a 1982 graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, with advanced studies at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. He has served as general manager for franchises including Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Best Western and Radisson. His operational and sales experience make him an effective supervisor for hotels of all types.
Jan Grunewaldt
Hotel management has always been a hands-on experience for Jan Grunewaldt. Her food, beverage and sales background, along with extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry, bring a unique perspective to her position as Regional Director of Operations.
Ms. Grunewaldt has been a committed member of the Ramkota Companies team since 1983, serving in numerous capacities at four Regency Hotel Management full-service hotels.
Thomas J. Morris
With more than a decade in the hospitality industry, Thomas Morris has been instrumental in the acquisition of numerous hotels and the management of the accounting department.
Mr. Morris graduated with a degree in accounting from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
In his position as Regional Director of Operations, Tom's primary responsibilities are to oversee the daily operations of multiple hotels and resorts throughout the region. In more than a decade with Regency Hotel Management, he has also been an active member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, as well as working on internal auditing and group purchasing for the company.
Dan Schank
New hotel acquisitions and special company projects are among Dan Schank's responsibilities as regional director of operations. His nearly 30 years in the hospitality industry give him the experience he needs as direct supervisor of full-service properties within Regency Hotel Management, including Best Western, Radisson, Holiday Inn, Wyndham and Club House.
Mr. Schank has degrees in business management and accounting. He served previously as general manager for franchise brands including Sheraton, Holiday Inn and Radisson.
Kyle Scholten
Joining the company as a corporate accountant in 1999, Kyle Scholten worked with the properties and the property accountants until assuming his current responsibilities as controller. Kyle's involvement includes working with the properties and the property accountants, hotel acquisitions, the on-going management and supervision of the accounting department, and the promotion of the green program energy efficiencies and solid waste reduction.
Mr. Scholten is directly responsible for payroll, accounts payable, monthly financial statements, regulatory returns, real estate tax appeals, and the implementation and utilization of programs involving energy efficiencies and environmental concerns.
Mr. Scholten holds a degree from South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota.
Levi Kary
Since joining Regency in 2007, Mr. Kary has taken on many roles, drawing on the wealth of knowledge within the company as he gains experience. Levi’s responsibilities include assisting in the acquisition of hotel and resort properties, including national and state park concessions. Additionally, he works with the company’s green program, which strives to reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
Mr. Kary graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and entrepreneurial studies from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Jill Sickler
Having begun her career in the hospitality industry in 2000, Ms. Sickler has worked in numerous aspects of hotel services and operations for Regency at the property level.
Ms. Sickler’s responsibilities as director of human resources include overseeing the workers’ compensation program, property liability claims, group benefits programs and the 401k savings plan. In addition, Jill provides general human resource and employment support to property personnel.
Jill is a member of the National SHRM Organization.
